Welcome to the homepage for the Midnight Judges, a gaming group centered in the San Francisco Bay Area that specializes in the Games Workshop line of games.

The Midnight Judges have played in and secured top positions in major tournaments including the Dallas Open, Bay Area Open, and Las Vegas Open.

But whether we’re competing in super majors or playing at our local gaming store, we’re all about sportsmanship, having fun, and journeying around the country to throw dice and ask people if they’ve seen our pamphlet.

Because we haven’t, and we’re getting worried. It’s been like 20 years.

What’s with the name?

The Midnight Judges were the last-minute appointments of judges made by President John Adams on the last hour of his presidency in 1801.

A few of us shared an AP US History class where this came up.

Most of the time in that class was spent making army lists or writing fluff about our respective Warhammer 40k armies, so we figured that it would be somewhat fitting, given the awesomeness of the name “Midnight Judge.”
